Regions Bank Race Weekend to Open Road Racing Season in Georgia
Albany, Georgia to play host
The Regions Bank Race Weekend is back again on March 6-7, 2010 in Albany, Georgia, boasting more than $8,000 in prize money. Saturday, cyclists will race against the clock in an individual time trial and volley for position in the criterium later in the day, Saturday’s events are in downtown Albany as part of the annual Mardi Gras Festival. Sunday events leave the urban streets for the country roads in the final event of the weekend on Sunday, a challenging 51 kilometer loop through Lee County.
The event is a part of the new Georgia Bicycle Racing Association (GABRA) cross-promoter race series that will crown the Best All-Around Rider (BAR) in each category. More info on GABRA can be found at www.gacycling.org.

Georgia Cycling Gran Prix Adds Five More Days of Racing
Historic Roswell Criterium, Georgia State Road Race, and Cumming Classic all in the mix
The Georgia Cycling Gran Prix, a few weeks away from its inaugural season, is pleased to announce the inclusion of three more events to create a twelve-race series, which includes 25 total days of racing.
New to the Georgia Cycling Gran Prix, albeit well-known to the region’s cyclist, is the Historic Roswell Criterium, which will be held April 26, 2009, the Sunday after the Athens Twilight Criterium. One day of racing for the best criterium riders in the region will surely add excitement to the overall points chase.

GeorgiaCycling.Net is the home of Georgia Cycling Gran Prix (GCGP) presented by Topview Sports and Swagger LLC. In its inaugural year this series will associate Georgia’s best long standing events into a yearlong points system. The events bring the racer great venues, fast results reporting, friendly registration staff, and most importantly, fun and safe racing. Anchored by the 30th Annual Athens Twilight Criterium and the third annual Gwinnett Bike Fest, the GCGP is excited to combine these great events into a solid racing series. There will be an overall points competition and overall prize money, with an awards reception to recognize the winners of each category following the final weekend of the Series.
